[1] I had to weigh myself, and I was actually quite happy with the scale's reading.
[2] I ate some Jimmy John's.
[3] I found my next project!!
Isn't it beautiful? It is a fantastic arm chair that I pulled out of the garbage on my way to Jimmy John's (I know they "deliver so fast you'll freak", but I was out running errands and didn't think they'd come meet me at wherever I was going). It took some dedication to maneuver this baby into my small car. After about 3 or so attempts, it finally fit upside down in the passenger seat beside me.
Now, of course I plan on recovering it. (I've never recovered furniture, so I am going to rely on CentsationalGirl's tutorial to help me do it!) But I am a bit baffled on how it came to be so incredibly torn up. You see, I found the chair sitting at the dumpster of an apartment complex. Seeing that it had rained just two nights before and the chair cushions were not in the least bit moist, I think it is safe to assume that the chair had to have been dropped off not too long before Tuesday evening.
Did the prior owner have a pet hamster that got loose on the chair? Did they want to make sure that no one took it out of the trash, so they ravaged the fabric to make it unattractive to any garbage pickers like me? Well, that didn't deter me from seeing amazing potential in this fab chair.
Right now it is sitting in my living room waiting for its makeover. First, though I need to find what fabric I want to use. Since I haven't done that yet, it will have to stay in its sad state for a bit longer. Le sigh. But, for you dear reader, I will keep you updated as the project develops. So stay tuned! Until it is finished, I will be posting more of my past projects.
Also, in case you are wondering, the title of this post comes from my youngest sister. Upon hearing that I had pulled a(nother) chair out of the trash, she looked at me with slight disgust and said matter-of-factly, yet concern in her voice, "You are a garbage person."
I guess it is true!
